9 things I learned in 2015

Reposting, as I got to remind myself of the awesome things 2015 taught me and what I believe we can get by reflecting on the positives of this year 2016

As always, Year-end is a great time to reflect on what you’ve achieved and what you’ve learned, mistakes you’ve made and goals you met and all.

Personally, this year, I became more of who I am meant to be. Not because I reached more goals, or achieved a new level of “success”. Those things happened, but they were by-products of me.

Being A Better Leader: 26 Ideas To Choosing Someone You Can Walk and Work With.

The greatest leader is not necessarily the one who does the greatest things. He is the one that gets the people to do the greatest things. — Ronald Reagan

In order to get people to do those greatest things, you need someone or some people close by that you have got to walk and work with.

Every leader needs a special friend(s) who may not be a personal friend, a coach or a mentor; who may neither be an analyst nor management consultant. Not someone to fix you or teach you how to lead. You are already a leader.

Leadership is not magnetic personality, that can just as well be a glib tongue. It is not ‘making friends and influencing people,’ that is flattery. Leadership is lifting a person’s vision to higher sights, the raising of a person’s performance to a higher standard, the building of a personality beyond its normal limitations–Peter F. Drucker

Allow me to enchant you and to introduce the Executive Inspreneur. This is your person. Someone who can walk by your side, who can listen without telling you what to do, who can be a sounding board so you can stay open, receptive, clear, alert, focused, balanced, expansive, energized and resilient. Someone ready to provide insights, perspectives, wisdom, encouragement, inspiration, ideas, support and challenge so you can thrive, be at ease, relaxed and fully present. That’s who you need to keep as a leading friend. They could be more than one, more than two even more than four, if you’re lucky to find. These leading friends are sometimes called our confidants, A-team, or our masterminds.

So who would you choose for such a role? Below Are 26 Ideas That Could Help Out

1.Perhaps someone who is good at making something out of nothing?

2.Perhaps someone who understands all the elements of your world intimately?

3.Perhaps someone who can see the bigger picture?

4.Perhaps someone who is brilliant at pulling things together and making things happen?

5.Perhaps someone who is good at looking objectively beyond the surface to see what is really going on?

6.Perhaps someone who can see the common thread of purpose and meaning for all parties involved?

7.Perhaps someone who is brilliant at spotting potential and developing it?

8.Perhaps someone who has successfully played the role of the Rainmaker for more than 2 decades?

9.Perhaps someone with an affinity for the future and cutting edge, next generation evolutionary developments?

10.Perhaps someone with an inherent understanding of energies, trends and patterns?

11.Perhaps someone who is an innovator and visionary?

12.Perhaps someone who can think outside of the box?

13.Perhaps someone with Midas Touch?

14.Perhaps someone who is authentic, resourceful, creative and unconventional?

15.Perhaps someone who stimulates and captures the imagination and challenge expansion of perception?

16.Perhaps someone who is brilliant at reading the signs, deciphering the patterns and connecting the dots?

17.Perhaps someone who can rise above the obvious?

18.Perhaps someone who can turn ideas into assets and value?

19.Perhaps someone whose senses are highly developed and can feel into every situation intuitively and spontaneously?

20.Perhaps someone who understands Human and Organizational Potential?

21.Perhaps someone who can pick up limiting beliefs, opinions, behaviour and attitudes?

22.Perhaps someone who can nurture, support and challenge?

23.Perhaps someone who has intimate knowledge and experience of development cycles (Spiral Dynamics)

24.Perhaps someone who has intimate knowledge and experience in Integral and Holistic Being and Living?

25.Perhaps someone who understands the gifts of a leader and understands your core values?

26.Perhaps someone who can guide you to trigger peak experiences in your sphere of influence that are unforgettable, remarkable and meaningful?

Beefing Up Your Confidence (8mins)

image

As long as you look for someone else to validate who you are by seeking their approval, you are setting yourself up for disaster. You have to be whole and complete in yourself. No one can give you that. You have to know who you are – what others say is irrelevant.
Nic Sheff

Confidence is ‘the belief in oneself and one’s powers or abilities.’ This feeling can easily be mistaken for the feeling of knowing you are better than others or that you do not care about what others think which is incorrect confidence is not about other people it is about yourself how you view yourself, how you reflect yourself and knowing your capability and capacity.

Never put off till tomorrow what may be done day after tomorrow just as well.

Power to create: Pay attention to your life (3 mins)

Do stuff. be clenched, curious. Not waiting for inspiration’s shove or society’s kiss on your forehead. Pay attention. It’s all about paying attention. attention is vitality. It connects you with others. It makes you eager. stay eager.
Susan Sontag

Yes it’s clear about the importance of planning. I hope it helped. Now here’s another important thing to keep in mind.

You must plan your life with much more care and attention than you would plan your business, study and work. Boy! Did I just say that? Yes I did.

Power to create: The baby step

image

We all have blind spots – those areas for improvement and growth. As painful as it can be to admit we’re doing things we never wanted to do and saying things we never wanted to say, it is this acknowledgement that enables us to take thefirst step toward change. Be gentle with yourself. Be real with yourself. Take baby steps.
Rhonda Louise Robbins

Do you have dreams? Do you have goals? What baby step have you taken to see that you achieve them?
Remember Usain Bolt, the fastest runner alive? He didn’t start running from the start, he just as us all, had to take some baby steps like crawling and walking before he started running.
