Procrastination:Break free from your resistance(2 mins)

Never put off till tomorrow what may be done day after tomorrow just as well.
Mark Twain

Let’s face it; you wouldn’t be procrastinating if you didn’t have a good reason for doing so.

Power to create: Pay attention to your life (3 mins)

Do stuff. be clenched, curious. Not waiting for inspiration’s shove or society’s kiss on your forehead. Pay attention. It’s all about paying attention. attention is vitality. It connects you with others. It makes you eager. stay eager.
Susan Sontag

Yes it’s clear about the importance of planning. I hope it helped. Now here’s another important thing to keep in mind.

You must plan your life with much more care and attention than you would plan your business, study and work. Boy! Did I just say that? Yes I did.

Power to create: Planning

image

Without leaps of imagination or dreaming, we lose the excitement of possibilities. Dreaming, after all is a form of planning.
Gloria Steinem

Are you living the life you really want to live? Do you know exactly what the kind of life you would want to live is?
Don’t you realize that you have the power to create your life?

More likely than not, I can guess your answer to the first question is “no” and to the second question, your  answer is “yes”. I would challenge you however  and say that it is more probable that you are not living the life you want and that, in actual fact, you have only a vague idea of the kind of life you really want.

As a matter of fact, in 97% of cases I would be right because it has been shown time and time again according to the Internet world stat and Stephen Shapiro’s Stat it’s been said that only 3% of any given population will excel in any given circumstances — their resolutions.

Finding the courage to live consciously

image

Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing. To keep our faces toward change and behave like free spirits in the presence of fate is strength undefeatable.
– Helen Keller

In our day-to-day lives, the virtue of courage doesn’t receive much attention. Sometimes, we feel Courage is a quality reserved for soldiers, firefighters, and activists. Security is what matters most today. Perhaps you were taught just like I was, to avoid being too bold or too brave. It’s too dangerous. Don’t take unnecessary risks. Don’t draw attention to yourself in public. Follow family traditions. Don’t talk to strangers. Keep an eye out for suspicious people. Stay safe. But a side effect of overemphasizing the importance of personal security in your life is that it can cause you to live reactively. Instead of setting your own goals, making plans to achieve them, and going after them with gusto, you play it safe not to get hurt. Keep working at the stable job, even though it doesn’t fulfill you. Remain in the unsatisfying relationship, even though you feel dead inside compared to the passion you once had. Who are you to think that you can buck the system? Accept your lot in life, and make the
best of it. Go with the flow, and don’t rock the boat. Your only hope is that the currents of life
will pull you in a favorable direction. No doubt there exist real dangers in life you must
avoid. But there’s a huge gulf between recklessness and courage. Oh my don’t get it twisted, I’m not referring to
the heroic courage required to risk your life to save someone from a burning building not at all.  courage I mean is the ability to face down those imaginary fears and reclaim the far more
powerful life that you’ve denied yourself.

Have the courage to follow your heart and intuition, they somehow already know what you truly want to become. ~Steve Jobs

I had these fears then, like Fear of failure. Fear of rejection. Fear of going broke.
Fear of being alone. Fear of humiliation. Fear of
public speaking –this was the biggest! Fear of being ostracized by family and friends. Fear of physical discomfort. Fear of regret. Fear of success. And one I’m still working on fear of heights! I just hope to get over it.
How many of these fears are holding you back?
How would you live if you had no fear at all?
You’d still have your intelligence and common sense to safely navigate around any real dangers, but without feeling the emotion of fear, would you be more willing to take risks, especially when the worst case wouldn’t actually hurt you at all? Would you speak up more often,
talk to more strangers, ask for more sales, dive headlong into those ambitious projects you’ve
been dreaming about? What if you even learned to enjoy the things you currently fear? What kind of difference would that make in your life?
Have you previously convinced yourself that you
aren’t really afraid of anything… that there are always good and logical reasons why you don’t
do certain things? Okay here are few of the reasons I did tell myself then. It would be rude to introduce yourself to a stranger. You shouldn’t attempt public speaking because you don’t have anything to say. You know what? I found out they’re just rationalizations though – think about how your life would change if you could confidently and courageously do these things with no fear at all.
Be courageous to do the unthinkable.

Be Bold, Brave and Strong (1 min)

image

Begin, to be bold, and venture to be wise.
Horace

Everyone admires the bold, courageous and daring; no one honors the faint- hearted, shy and timid. Look around at what others have done and what you can also do. Everyone is afraid. The strong act in spite of the fear. The weak cower because of the fear. Timidity breeds doubt and hesitation that not only weaken but can be dangerous. The coward dies a thousand deaths.
There is a formula for personal development. It is the same formula for everyone.
You must study. You must plan. You must practice. You must be tested. Some will shrink simply facing the task. Some will do the minimum and pass. Some will cut corners and pass. Instead, you must boldly welcome the challenge of honestly meeting the standards. Then and only then will you feel the true pride of accomplishment.
Make a personal decision to do what it will take to succeed. These principles are known to many but lived by few. Most people know what they should be doing.
They lack the will or the self-confidence to test themselves physically and mentally by starting a business, making an investment or establishing a friendship. This is not the independent you. You are a person of action.

Keep going and the chances are you will stumble on something, perhaps when you are least expecting it. I never heard of anyone stumbling on something sitting down._ Charles Kettering

What action step do you think one can take to being bold and brave? And is courage and bravery the same?

Think Positive, Think Different.

Just be yourself (2 mins)

Live authentically. Why would you continue to compromise something that’s beautiful to create something that is fake?
Steve Maraboli

I have a confession to make, I was comparing myself with others a lot. Guess what? I noticed I’m never going to be like you. I could try and try with every ounce of my being, but I still would be a lesser version of you than you already are. I could put all of my focus into acting like you, talking like you, writing like you, being like you – and you would still be better at being you than I ever could.

NEVER GIVE UP!!

wpid-img_63323793334338.jpeg

On one hand, we know that everything happens
for a reason, and there are no mistakes or coincidences. On the other hand, we learn that we can never give up, knowing that with the right tools and energy, we can reverse any decree or karma. So, which is it? Let the Light
decide, or never give up? The answer is: both.”
_Yehuda Berg

Ps. Just had to re-publish as a reminder.
I was chatting with a friend of mine over the phone just two days ago. He told me many things he had envisioned to achieve but he was still contemplating if they were achievable. He asked for my thoughts on what to do for him not to give up. I just didn’t know what to say but hope that what I did say will keep him going. I just want to share that same thoughts here too. Here it is. Reconnect yourself with your dreams. Don’t detach yourself from what you’ve envisioned. Regardless of what you are going through, make a commitment to hold on to your dreams. You’ve got to stick to your guns. i just love this phrase Same goes to us all. You are at a crossroads where you make a strong decision about your future. You are at a point where you make a good choice about what you want in life. You can decide to remain stagnant or move forward. The choice is yours. In spite of what your circumstances are, decide to reconnect with your vision. Take up things that bring you to your dreams everyday. Remind yourself of why you mustn’t give up on your dreams. Be persistently pursuing what gives you joy. Be patient with what you believe in. Give your dreams enough time to flourish in order to give you the success you truly deserve. Your position of power, success and respect is achievable. Take positive mindset with you as you journey in life. Believe all is possible!

What would you tell someone else trying to give up?
