The greatest leader is not necessarily the one who does the greatest things. He is the one that gets the people to do the greatest things. — Ronald Reagan

In order to get people to do those greatest things, you need someone or some people close by that you have got to walk and work with.

Every leader needs a special friend(s) who may not be a personal friend, a coach or a mentor; who may neither be an analyst nor management consultant. Not someone to fix you or teach you how to lead. You are already a leader.

Leadership is not magnetic personality, that can just as well be a glib tongue. It is not ‘making friends and influencing people,’ that is flattery. Leadership is lifting a person’s vision to higher sights, the raising of a person’s performance to a higher standard, the building of a personality beyond its normal limitations–Peter F. Drucker

Allow me to enchant you and to introduce the Executive Inspreneur. This is your person. Someone who can walk by your side, who can listen without telling you what to do, who can be a sounding board so you can stay open, receptive, clear, alert, focused, balanced, expansive, energized and resilient. Someone ready to provide insights, perspectives, wisdom, encouragement, inspiration, ideas, support and challenge so you can thrive, be at ease, relaxed and fully present.

That’s who you need to keep as a leading friend. They could be more than one, more than two even more than four, if you’re lucky to find. These leading friends are sometimes called our confidants, A-team, or our masterminds.

So who would you choose for such a role? Below Are 26 Ideas That Could Help Out

1.Perhaps someone who is good at making something out of nothing?

2.Perhaps someone who understands all the elements of your world intimately?

3.Perhaps someone who can see the bigger picture?

4.Perhaps someone who is brilliant at pulling things together and making things happen?

5.Perhaps someone who is good at looking objectively beyond the surface to see what is really going on?

6.Perhaps someone who can see the common thread of purpose and meaning for all parties involved?

7.Perhaps someone who is brilliant at spotting potential and developing it?

8.Perhaps someone who has successfully played the role of the Rainmaker for more than 2 decades?

9.Perhaps someone with an affinity for the future and cutting edge, next generation evolutionary developments?

10.Perhaps someone with an inherent understanding of energies, trends and patterns?

11.Perhaps someone who is an innovator and visionary?

12.Perhaps someone who can think outside of the box?

13.Perhaps someone with Midas Touch?

14.Perhaps someone who is authentic, resourceful, creative and unconventional?

15.Perhaps someone who stimulates and captures the imagination and challenge expansion of perception?

16.Perhaps someone who is brilliant at reading the signs, deciphering the patterns and connecting the dots?

17.Perhaps someone who can rise above the obvious?

18.Perhaps someone who can turn ideas into assets and value?

19.Perhaps someone whose senses are highly developed and can feel into every situation intuitively and spontaneously?

20.Perhaps someone who understands Human and Organizational Potential?

21.Perhaps someone who can pick up limiting beliefs, opinions, behaviour and attitudes?

22.Perhaps someone who can nurture, support and challenge?

23.Perhaps someone who has intimate knowledge and experience of development cycles (Spiral Dynamics)

24.Perhaps someone who has intimate knowledge and experience in Integral and Holistic Being and Living?

25.Perhaps someone who understands the gifts of a leader and understands your core values?

26.Perhaps someone who can guide you to trigger peak experiences in your sphere of influence that are unforgettable, remarkable and meaningful?

YOU as a Leader, must realize the critical need of selecting the right people is more important than ever, and people’s importance is more powerful than ever. As Schwarzkopf also say,

“If they fail, their leader fails.”

People are the foundation of any organization. Think about it. In a family, without people meals are not prepared, money is not earned, bills are not paid, love and care are not given, safety and security are not provided. In a business, without people sales are not made, production does not occur, research is not conducted.

The greatest leaders mobilize others by coalescing people around a shared vision.”
–Ken Blanchard

In a church, company or school without people, classes are not taught, committees do not function, programs do not run, services do not take place.
Unless men and women make it happen, it does not happen. It is just that simple.

Putting the right people in the right place at the right time is a critical component of leadership. That’s why it is of great importance we choose our friends, Select the right people, churches, or businesses to work with.

When you Select the wrong people the doors to more opportunity may look dim.

In order to always follow the light, comes the need to find the right leading friends.

  2. Wonderful post. Leaders can be anyone. I read a great book by Robin Sharma “The Leader Who Had No Title” where he writes about leadership coming from all of us, no matter what someone does for a living. It’s the ability to inspire and motivate others naturally and to believe in others more than they believe in themselves. It is seeing them become better and do great things .. it’s very exciting to see Very nice to visit you! Look forward to visiting again …

Thanks for stopping by in this embryonic space of mine. 😀

  3. Spending a few years in the work force has really made me realize that it is not enough to be good at your job and earn the “manager” title to make people good leaders. Leadership is a skill of its own. Love the different perspective you took for your post on looking for a leader with the right qualities :). I want to have these qualities but this really makes me want to find these qualities in other people and let them inspire me.

    1. Thank you so much! Glad you loved it.😇

      You’re absolutely right!

I kind of realized that truth few months back which is, the more spark we search in others, the more sparks we create for ourselves. In that, the more we associate with people that have got if not all, but few of those qualities, the more unconsciously we adopt them positive qualities as time goes.

Thanks A whole lot for stopping by and leaving such great words here. My happiness coach! You’re the best.😆

  4. Hey there Old Sport! I’m K&L, the Author, Publisher & CEO of The Millionaire’s Digest, I just want to apologize for not being able to publish your articles fast enough on The Millionaire’s Digest. Once you have a team that’s grown to more than 300+ people in less than 6 months, and are constantly uploading posts every day, you can bet how hard it is to keep up with everything. Plus, you have to add college and preparing to launch a magazine in there as well, which brings me to my next point Old Sport.

I would just like to ask you before I get ready to have our magazine published if you would still like to be in it. I mean, I don’t want you to if it’s something you don’t want to do, because I know I wouldn’t like it if someone made me do something I didn’t want to do either. But I mean, I just wanted to let you know and give you the chance so you don’t feel left out!

    Sincerely,
    K&L

  5. At some point in our corporate journey, we arrive at this point. Some may experience this in the early stages of their career, and for some it might take a while. But it will happen. We are expected to lead a team.

    1. Yes. You’re absolutely right. Glad to have learned this in my beginning stage. But truth be told, honestly it isn’t easy leading a team though. It takes quite a lot. I sometimes wonder how Elon Musk get to handle different team members from different spheres.

      Thanks for the comment Erin.😃
