Power to create: The baby step

image

We all have blind spots – those areas for improvement and growth. As painful as it can be to admit we’re doing things we never wanted to do and saying things we never wanted to say, it is this acknowledgement that enables us to take thefirst step toward change. Be gentle with yourself. Be real with yourself. Take baby steps.
Rhonda Louise Robbins

Do you have dreams? Do you have goals? What baby step have you taken to see that you achieve them?
Remember Usain Bolt, the fastest runner alive? He didn’t start running from the start, he just as us all, had to take some baby steps like crawling and walking before he started running.

Working toward your plans, goals or dreams, entails aligning with the right people, disregarding discouragement from people who don’t support your growth, and taking tiny baby steps each day to move toward your vision.
The right people are those who help you, support you, encourage you, believe in you, and guide you on your way to this dream. It may include people who’ve done what you want to do, people who also image

Want to do it, and even people who you just plain find cool.
Share your enthusiasm and progress with them.
They’ll keep you excited and help you stick to your plan.

As for those people who don’t support your growth, there will be many of them, and they
most likely won’t be malicious. They’ll be well-meaning people who aren’t able to take the bull by the horn for themselves, and, therefore, think they’re
doing you a favor by discouraging you. Politely
decline that favor. Their words may seem to keep you down, but it’s how you internalize them that holds you back.

In respect to taking consistent baby steps, on what may not seem like much such as to make a call, bookmark a site, or send an email, these little things add up over time—and because they’re easily doable, each one may inspire you to do more.

Nonetheless, It often strikes me as strange, and in some way, keeps me thinking on how many of us are so organized and diligent when it comes to studying at school or performing well at work, yet are so terrible at excelling at the most important thing of all
–our lives!

Let me cut to the chase. Most of us know the value of planning at our work places. In fact, we are probably very good at it and just maybe could even take the lead in planning at work. We make plans as to what we want to achieve during a certain period of time, we analyse our strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats using the SWOT analysis. We even go ahead to make strategic plans, implementation plans, budgets and a lot of other things. It could be a herculean task at times, but we do it anyway because we know that
without these plans our output and companies or organizations would fail to achieve good results.

Then we knock off, go home and sometimes unfortunately, leave our brains at work.

Somehow, what we do at work doesn’t seem to apply any more. We just lay back and hope for a better life to magically appear.
If taking out time to plan for school and even work is ideal for productivity, how can you have the life you desire with No plans, no time frames, no budgets, no targets and not even a written goal?

It is no wonder so many are brilliant at their
careers and yet miserable failures when it comes
to their personal lives. They do not apply their knowledge and expertise to their own lives.

Are you part of the many? With what you know, why not start now in planning for the life you want. Take a break and think meticulously on the what, why’s and how-to’s in making that vision a reality. Remember vision is a mental picture for a desired future. When you can think, see and hold a vivid picture in your mind, then you can go as far as seeing it with your eyes.

What baby step do you take to see that you achieve your dreams?

Think Positive, Think Different.

  1. I constantly go onto Youtube and search for videos. I listen to Joel Osteen, Napoleon Hill, Allan Rufus and so many more. I’m learning about meditation, chakras, crystals, inner peace and unconditional love. I love writing poems and songs and my goal is to write a book of poems, publish a gratitude book/journal and help people as best as I can. Baby steps are such a HUGE part of accomplishing anything, we are often uncertain how to proceed, so planning and action are a must! This is a great post, you make so many salient points!! Wouldn’t it be wonderful if the life we dream of did just magically appear?! 😉

    1. Ha ha..It would be so easy.already we have to slave around for our woking place that when it comes to our lives we take a break and let it be. There is no target ..we r the boss of our life and in no hurry. Maybe that is y we r not planning, analyzing on our lives performance ..waiting for magic to happen.

    2. Oh my. Deb! to answer your question, it would be quite wonderful! But you know what i kinda realized? it will be no fun. Seriously, If everyone’s dream just magically appear dreaming will be just common. i’m just saying though because us, humans kinda like things that have processes. Wow i thought it was only me. i do search for such videos from those great men including Myles Munroe, Mike Murdock, Joyce Meyer, Joseph prince and the likes. Meanwhile, I can’t wait to read your books. So get on with them. You’ve got some amazing goals kinda like mine.{https://thinkdigest.wordpress.com/2016/01/08/goals-blogging-goals/} First things first to have shared it is a baby step then next is working towards it. Talking about gratitude book/journal, do you keep journals? you know it’s part of the baby steps too.

Ps. will still update my goals soon.

      1. I think you are probably right, if are dreams just happened without the process each time it would become mundane and nothing special…oh well! Thank you for those names, I wrote them down and I’m going to search them out, I’m always looking for new people to listen to. I do keep journals, I don’t write in them daily but I do have three journals that I keep different things in depending on what they are. Thank you for wanting to read my book you help to give me inspiration to work on them…I’m going to go read about your goals now!! Thanks so much for sharing all your thoughts!! 🙂

  2. You know Deb,In the bible there is a clause for people like us who would wait for miracles…it says for those who work they get workers reward, but to those who wait for God,they will get Gods reward. So there nothing wrong in waiting for miracles. Even the man who was invalid for 38 years was waiting for miracle by the pool of bethesda..(i hope u know about that)if he could just jump into the pool he could have healed it was there in front of him but he was waiting for God. And God came just for him! even though the fact was the miracle was just a step away!

    1. hmm Love your refs. Then, does it mean that people should just keep on waiting for miracles and miss the big picture of what is close to them? BTW, I believe whole-heatedly in it Miracles ‘cos my life and more is a miracle but just like a story of a man in the middle of an ocean who when rescue boat was close, was still waiting for the lord to help him. i guess that’s plain ignorance or don’t you guys think so?

  3. Precious! Well i would just ask you to refer my blog on that…do you want to be healed?where i tried to understand the invalid’s point of view. That man was probably bound by negative thoughts he was better off than the paralysed or blinds etc. He was capable yet unable to rise up …For God to come in a situation where we really cannot rise up will be justified but in the case of the man who in the middle of the ocean refused help because he wanted the God himself to come down..it means he was testing God..or being foolish. If we are genuinely caught and simply helpless to save ourself then miracles will happen..but testing God can be a difficult task altogether. What say?

    1. Hmm… If we are genuinely caught and simply helpless to save our self then miracles happen. Just summarized it. Yes testing God is quite a different task Per Se. Coming over hope you won’t bite. Just kidding. 😊
