A man’s mind may be likened to a garden, which may be intelligently cultivated or allowed to run wild; but whether cultivated or neglected, it must, and will, bring forth. If no useful seeds are put into it, then an abundance of useless weed seeds will fall therein, and will continue to produce their
kind. –James Allen
Imagine what happens if you don’t weed your garden? It will look nasty right?
That’s what happens when you don’t weed your mind. Oh don’t you know your mind is a garden. It sure is and like every garden, it needs weeding once in a while. (or do i say, “to be wed?”) please help me out.
Okay…
I took out 25 minutes today to stroll round a beautiful garden and just seeing how beautiful the flowers were nicely arranged made me love it the more. I then thought about it, for this garden to look this beautiful, it was being taken cared of. To be honest, that’s how your mind should be too. If you have a garden, spend minutes weeding it. As you do so, imagine also weeding out negative thoughts and procrastination from your mind. [If you don’t have an actual garden, simply walk around your yard you’ll probably still find plenty of weeds! But hey! If you don’t have a yard of your own, you can instead make this a mental exercise done during meditation; it will still work just as well.]
An unattended mind can create havoc for you because your mind is amazingly receptive to whatever suggestions may be dropped into it.
Affirm that with every weed you pull, you are making room for motivation and inspiration to enter your life. When you’re finished, look at the pile of weeds and feel great about removing them from your life as you dump them into the trash can. Then go about working on your tasks for the day, and notice that you feel lighter and less burdened.
Doing this made me feel less burdened and i guess it will work for you too.
What measure do you take in order to weed your mind?
Sooo important to see how it’s all in your head! 😉 Awesome post!

That’s a great exercise. I imagine the kind of plants, trees and flowers I’d plant: orchids, lilies, orange trees, bamboos… 😀 Can I steal this? I’m inspired to do a brain map. 🙂

Yes! that’s the spirit @spiritualjourney. It sure does help quite a lot. I noticed most people like doing theirs at dawn others at dusk. So, When’s your best time to meditate?

I love the beginning quote. “As a man Thinketh,” by James Allen was a great book:) “What measure do you take in order to weed your mind?” I would say action, taking steps toward your goals is what weeds out fear and doubt from your mind. Pondering and procrastination is what breeds doubt and fear. nice job:)

Hey! Carlos You’re absolutely right. But a friend actually thought that dwelling so much on goal setting could put someone in a trap. Is that possible?

It’s Vincent, not Carlos:) daily goals is a great habit. Goals setting becomes a trap when you’re goals are unrealistic then they can be dangerous. If you’re 28, making $5 million and you have a goal to be a billionaire by 30, that goal will do you more harm than good. But if you have the goal to make 10 million by 30 that’s more realistic and attainable. Studies show that successful people have a goldilocks approach to goal setting where they don’t set goals too high or too low but they do set goals:)

Okay. Wow Vincent 😉 you’re absolutely right had to clarify ‘cos it kinda seems people just always set unrealistic goals and at the end when not attained, beat themselves up Like Cesaro on the ring. Lol just remembered WWE. 😌
Ps. Have you heard of the DUMB goal system? it sure is cool too
