For those of you who never procrastinate,
distract yourself or drag your feet when you
should be doing something important, this isn’t for you (the perfectionist I guess).
But for the rest of us humans, who work towards perfection and try to get the best and having library of motivational boosters to
move us on is really good.
To be honest, I believe the best way to stay motivated, is to organize your life so you don’t have to allow your plans fall through. How do I mean? The idea is that explicit Motivational techniques should be a backup, not
your regular routine. Which means you could use them occasionally. Therefore, work at getting motivated through these three techniques (which I guess you know).
Here are some things to consider in making those plans of yours flow more naturally. I call them the “PHB” techniques.
Nothing makes you exceptional as giving yourself to what you know how to do best.
Do things you have a passion for. We all have to do things we don’t want to (it kind of happens) But if
life has become a chronic source of dull chores, then you’ve got a big problem that needs fixing.
2. Habits. You can’t put everything on autopilot.
But I’ve found putting a few core habits in place creates a structure for the day. Waking
up at the same time, working at the same times and having a similar productive routine
makes things look easier.
With the name, it’s obvious to what this means. You have to try and keep all your tasks at hand in equilibrium– a state where everything is equal. Though
there are many factors that go into producing this state, having the right challenge level is a
big part. Find ways to tweak your tasks so they hover in that sweet spot between boredom and maddening frustration.
